Job Description

Simplex is a Cisco Premier Certified Integrator, named Cisco Premier Certified Partner of the Year for Cyprus for three consecutive years, while the company’s data centers run almost entirely on Cisco infrastructure.  As such, we are in search of a senior engineer with experience in the fields of enterprise networking, security and collaboration/voice whose tasks will include the management and operational support of critical in-house and client infrastructure as well as the design, specification and implementation of new solutions.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, manage and troubleshoot complex routing and switching environments.
  • Design, implement and maintain security services and applications for both in-house and client networks.
  • Responsible for the design, configuration, deployment and operational management and support of collaboration solutions.
  • Manage relevant projects ensuring high quality and timely delivery and smooth handover to in-house NOC/support teams and/or clients’ IT teams.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems and proactively work towards the improvement of designs, process and systems as well as the automation of common activities.
  • Coordinate technical lifecycle projects such as equipment software/firmware upgrades, security patch management and equipment replacements/upgrades.
  • Act as 3rd level operational support to whom high severity complex problems and incidents affecting in-house and client networks, security and collaboration infrastructure will be escalated.
  • Responsible for adherence to required/committed service levels in terms of availability, reliability, security and scalability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and central point for network, security and collaboration technologies, both internally and with clients, providing relevant recommendations and advice.
  • Provide pre-sales assistance with scoping of professional services and technical designs.
  • Produce and present client facing technical project documentation.
  • Assume the role of the company's Information Security Officer, ensuring compliance to corporate and industry standards, preparing relevant documentation and participating in technology/security audits

 

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • University/college degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant subject.
  • Thorough and demonstrable understanding of Cisco Enterprise networking (routing and switching) at all levels (design, implementation, administration and troubleshooting), ideally to a CCNP, CCDP or CCIE level with minimum 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Hands on experience in troubleshooting Layer 2/3 switching and routing and relevant protocols (TCP/IP, OTV, VPC, VDC, STP, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, QoS and other key mainstream protocols) with focus on Cisco platforms (Catalyst and Nexus switches, ISR and ASR routers).
  • Proven knowledge and hands on experience in designing, configuring and troubleshooting security infrastructure using Cisco technologies (ASA and Firepower firewalls, Identity Services Engine (ISE), DUO, Umbrella, etc.).  Experience with other vendors’ solutions (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.) will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in implementing and supporting large scale, complex Cisco Unified Communications and Collaboration solutions (CUCM, Unity, CUBE, Expressway, IM&P, Jabber, Webex, etc.).  Experience with other collaboration and IP telephony platforms such as Microsoft  Teams, Asterisk/FreePBX, Avaya, 3CX, etc. will be considered an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Cisco wireless technologies (access points, controllers, management software).
